Hulk Admin: So, tell us Shane Q, why did you choose Shane Q as your stage name?
Shane Q: It all started from my secondary school level cause l loved listening to the tribe called Quest & 2pac and l used to Rap their songs so people gave me the stage name Q ,l took it from their meaning Quest.(Q).
Hulk Admin: That's interesting, who is your favourite African rapper and why?
Shane Q: I guess AKA is my favourite so far cause he maintain his game and his collaboration with Africans as a whole.
Hulk Admin: True, so who is your favourite international rapper and why?
Shane Q: I still stick with 2pac cause he was true to himself rather than this new school hip-hop,he was rapping the reality that you can learn and motivate your life with.
Hulk Admin: Hmm sticking to old school, that's pure bro, at what age did you first joined the music scene?
Shane Q: Actually l grew up in hip-hop community when it started in 90s,so we were just rapping to the recorded song from different artist ,l was 12 years old but l started recording my own song in 2010.
Hulk Admin: Wow, so since 2010 how many tracks have you produced.?
Shane Q: I guess over 20 songs and still recording.
Hulk Admin: Wow, that's amazing, so tell us Shane, what have been your biggest challenges since you joined the music scene?
Shane Q: The challenges are many cause 1st to record just a single track it's money,then marketing wise ,its another task and just a song to be on radio they demand cash so it's a rough road to get recognition.
Hulk Admin: You're saying you're asked by radio stations to pay before your song is aired on their station?
Shane Q: Exactly ,that's what I'm saying, from SABC,YFM all big radio stations but now l can not mention the compilers name cause they were calling me for money to play my music.
Hulk Admin: Hmm, so how are you dealing with all these challenges facing your career.?
Shane Q: Ah! just staying strong and patient enough, if the time is ripe everything is all gonna be good.
Hulk Admin: True, Do you currently work for any record label?
Shane Q: Not at all, at the moment.
Hulk Admin: Have you previously worked for one?
Shane Q: No l haven't yet.
Hulk Admin: Hmm, if given the opportunity which record label would you love to work with?And why?
Shane Q: Hmmmh! It's a tough one l guess Sony for marketing competitive exposure.
Hulk Admin: Haha, a lot of artists would go for Sony too, OK, just in case he's reading this, which top artist would you like to work with if given the chance.? And why?
Shane Q: You mean overseas or here in South Africa?
Hulk Admin: In Africa as a whole.
Shane Q: OK l guest Casper nyovest cause he's not too much commercial and I'm in between.
Hulk Admin: Hmm, what of an international artist you would love to work with?
Shane Q: Chris brown so l can just spit the bars.
Hulk Admin: I feel you bro, were do you see yourself in the next two years as an artist?
Shane Q: Bringing my unique style type of music with some difference that have never been heard,as well as different collaborations with different artist around Africa.
